Yes, I explained it to her and she threatened to blame a drinking habit on me. While I would certainly feel similar if I was in your position I think we can both agree punishing me would be very unnecessary and awkward for all parties involved given the whole "immortal warrior reassembling himself after death" thing I've got going on.

Okay, so, short version: I don't know exactly why this is happening. My best guess is this is a you from an alternate reality, maybe an alternate future, and that world is dying so the other-you is trying to revive it, probably by hijacking the power Kamala has.

And I know the other you is involved because I have one of your drafted creations here in a holding cell in OOPARTS that definitely doesn't belong to you.

You can come down to look at it if you'd like - in fact, I encourage it, but I promise you've seen it before in your notebooks. It's the one that looks like a manta ray.

Oh, and I know there's another you involved because, plainly, Noriko won't talk about it. And if she isn't talking about it, it's because she's been commanded not to.

And there's only two people I can think of who can do that.

As far as I understand, the only people who can actually 'pull rank' on her, metaphysically, are the Supreme King and the Obsidian Lord.

I mean, I've got some leads, but I've kind of hit a dead end where I do have to get you involved - at minimum, you might be the only person who can undo Noriko's geas so she can actually spill some more information. She might know why this is happening now, of all times.

And believe me - if it were up to me, I wouldn't bother you with this nonsense, because I understand that you and Suzume don't want to touch this with a twenty-foot-pole, and that's why I even took up this job in the first place, so people wouldn't have to. But my options aren't great and there's only so much I can do when this is clearly one of the gizmos you planned on making later down the line.

The one I have in custody has some claw marks in it but otherwise has been hale and hearty enough to make itself a nuisance. I assume you want to study it for your own purposes, as well as attempt to draw any conclusions I couldn't by looking at your own handiwork.

Ah, yes.

About nine years ago, there was a... situation, where, er... Well, quite simply: Automatons that I apparently created in the future, were seemingly hijacked and sent back to the past with intent to kill me and those connected to me.

It was handled with help from Juudai and another one-- a very pale, silvery fellow that I can't recall the name of-- in order to seal the rifts they were coming through.

It was part of what ended up inspiring me to go further with my designs and how they might work overall. So I guess it was a bit self-fulfilling...?

The last time I felt like this, was because someone had hijacked the automatons in some potential future, and sent them back in time-- I think they were trying to kill me in the past.

But when they were destroyed, the energy that I-- or well, the Obsidian Lord of my future self-- had imbued into them, went back to it's closest source. Me.

Wait what. When the hell did this happen.

It was quite literally years ago. I think about... nine, now? How time flies...

As I said, I'd rather not think it's the same thing, but...
